If I Didn't React Like I Did, He Probably Would've Been In There Not Coming Out

"...I knew he had to come out of there."
A Minnesota police officer may owe his life to a good samaritan who responded to a serious car crash after hearing the accident from his home Wednesday night.
Ryan Smith came running to the rescue after an SUV blew through a stop sign and slammed into an officer's patrol car, according to KARE-TV.

Immediately, the squad car went up in flames. Dash-cam footage shows Smith assist the officer as he moans in pain.
"At that time I knew he had to come out of there," Smith told KARE-TV. "I leaned down and told him to grab my shoulder and wrap his arm around my neck and we started walking away from it."

“Hell, I saved a guy's life for sure," he added. "If I didn't react like I did, he probably would've been in there not coming out."

Smith then turned his attention to the occupants of the SUV where he quickly discovered there were two kids in the back seat.
The good samaritan helped remove the mother and two kids from the wrecked vehicle.
However, despite all this, Smith says he is no hero.
“Do a favor, return a favor, I guess,” he said.
