Pay Attention to What Happens to a Bicyclist Moments After He Crosses the Finish Line
May 29, 2014
"At least he won."
18-year-old Noah Granigan won the 2014 Tour of Somerville earlier this week — but that's not why he's trending on the Internet.
Just seconds after triumphantly crossing the finish line in the New Jersey race, the teenager lost control of his bicycle and crashed, sliding at least a dozen feet before he came to a standstill.
"At least he won," a spectator can be heard saying in a video that captured the entire incident.

He later recounted what happened to a local newspaper.
"I looked like I hit something. I had a pretty big gap, so I got a little to excited, excited I won the race," he said. "I'm guessing every cyclist has fallen before."
