"Kill me now!"

St. Louis police on Wednesday released graphic cellphone video recorded by a witness showing officers fatally shooting a knife-wielding man who had reportedly robbed a nearby convenience store.

The man, identified as 25-year-old Kajieme Powell, is seen in the video brandishing a knife, walking towards officers and yelling, “kill me now!”

The two officers who shot Powell are on administrative duty until a full investigation is completed, according to St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson.

The video can be viewed here, but be advised the video is extremely graphic.

Additional security camera footage reportedly shows Powell stealing items from a convenience store. When the store clerk confronted him, the suspect got angry and started throwing things.

Residents spilled into the streets on Tuesday in protest of the St. Louis shooting, many chanting "hands up, don't shoot," the chant created following the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown in nearby Ferguson.

Police have vowed to be transparent about its investigation as more facts are uncovered.
