Police are looking for six male suspects shown on surveillance video brutally beating a couple outside a club in downtown Springfield, Missouri, KYTV-TV reported.
Meredith Cole said she was outside the Outland Ballroom when she was approached by a group of males who began to sexually assault her, KYTV reported.
Cole said she managed to get back inside the club where her boyfriend, Alex, was working as a DJ and told him about the assault; he then exited the club to try to identify her attackers, the station reported.
Surveillance video appears to show the couple walking away from the group, which comes at them from behind.
Cole and police said the group then began beating the couple.
The video shows attackers ganging up and then taking turns punching and kicking the couple, who try to fend off the attack and battle back.
At one point the attack seems to subside...
...then another suspect runs into the frame and attacks Cole's boyfriend, knocking him down and kicking him.
All the attackers flee the scene about 30 seconds after the assault commences, when two uniformed individuals who appear to be police enter the camera frame and pursue the gang.
Cole took photos after the attack showing her bleeding from the head and her boyfriend with multiple bruises, KYTV reported. She also sustained a fractured ankle. The couple was taken to hospital for treatment.
