NBA Player Under Fire for 'Lol' Selfie at Berlin Holocaust Museum

"Yes, mistakes do happen."

San Antonio Spurs' shooting guard Danny Green — in Germany with his team for the NBA Global Games — took in some sightseeing when the world champions were off the court, according to the Sporting News.

One spot Green visited on Wednesday was Berlin's Holocaust Memorial — during which Green decided to snap a selfie and include a caption:

His caption read, "You know I had to do it one time lol #Holocaust," the Guardian reported.

It appears Green, 27, posted the photo and caption to his Facebook page and then edited the caption soon after his post went live.

The new caption reads: "A lot of history here, more than you could imagine...very sad/tragic things happened #holocaust #berlin."

But the news of Green's short-lived words were enough to spark outrage on social media, even amid an apology from Green in which he wrote, "Yes, mistakes do happen":

Some commenters on his Facebook page indicate that Green's selfie alone shows disrespect.
