Iraqi Official Reportedly Says Woman Detained By Lebanese Army Is Not Wife of Islamic State Leader

An Iraqi official said Wednesday that the woman detained earlier this week by Lebanon's army was not the wife of Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, but instead the sister of a man convicted of bombings in southern Iraq.

"The one detained by Lebanese authorities was Saja Abdul Hamid al-Dulaimi, sister of Omar Abdul Hamid al-Dulaimi who is detained by authorities and sentenced to death for his participation in ... explosions," ministry spokesman Brigadier General Saad Maan told Reuters.

Lebanese security officials said on Tuesday that they had detained the unidentified woman who had been traveling without a passport. The officials also said that they had detained al-Baghdadi's son.
