"Bodies are on fire in the streets of Ramadi."
There's no understating the threat of the Islamic State, in his mind.
Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona) spouted off on Fox News Sunday morning, ripping into the Obama administration members who have been seemingly cavalier about the fall of Ramadi to the Islamic State last week.
"My most unfavorite is this idiot [White House Press Secretary Josh] Earnest saying, 'Well, we're not gonna set our hair on fire every time there's a setback,'" said McCain. "Mr. Earnest may not, but bodies are on fire in the streets of Ramadi as we are speaking."
He added, "[The Islamic State] is a transcendent evil."
The anchor was surprised, asking, "You're calling Josh Earnest an idiot?"
McCain "retract[ed]" his insult, but he reiterated that it's "infuriating" to hear President Obama and others downplay the severity of the Islamic State's threat to the world.
