Pundits Incensed Over Megyn Kelly’s 'Disgusting' Abortion Question for Scott Walker

"... are you too out of the mainstream on this issue to win the general election?"

A few well-known watchers of Thursday's Republican debate weren't too happy with Fox News host and moderator Megyn Kelly's abortion question for Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.

After noting Walker's desire to make abortion illegal even in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother, Kelly took a big swing at the governor.

"Would you really let a mother die rather than have an abortion?" Kelly asked. "And with 83 percent of the American public in favor of a life exception, are you too out of the mainstream on this issue to win the general election?"

That set off a few pundits:

Although Stephen Hayes, senior writer for the Weekly Standard, called attention to the way Walker navigated Kelly's question:

Walker underscored that he's "always been pro-life" and has a position "consistent with many Americans out there." He added that he believes an unborn child needs protection and that "there are many other alternatives that will protect the life of that mother."

Walker also contrasted his views with Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton's "radical position in terms of support for Planned Parenthood. I defunded Planned Parenthood more than four years ago, long before any of these videos came out."
