The Kind of Thing You See in Dictatorships': Univision Reporter Tossed by Trump From Presser Lays Out His Concerns

"incredibly authoritarian"

In the wake of Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump tossing Univision’s Jorge Ramos from an Iowa press conference last week, Ramos said Sunday the incident echoes behavior found in "dictatorships."

"What is completely out of line is that a reporter is ejected from a press conference simply for asking a question,” Ramos said on CNN's "Reliable Sources."

The veteran reporter added to host Brian Stelter that he was never before kicked out of a press conference and is concerned about what the action might mean for press freedom in America.

"I cover many issues in many countries ..." Ramos noted, "and this is the kind of thing that you see in dictatorships, but not in the United States of America.” He added that Trump "acted in an incredibly authoritarian way."
