Police Find Man Shot Multiple Times and Then Charge Him With Assault and Violating Domestic Violence Order. Here's Who They Say Acted in Self Defense.
May 12, 2016
Several residents on the street said it wasn't the first time police had been seen at the house.
Police in Lexington, Kentucky, found a man down on the front lawn of a house Tuesday morning and shot multiple times — and then they charged him.
William J. Redd, 40, was charged with fourth-degree assault, domestic violence and violating a domestic violence order, WKYT-TV reported.
Turns out investigators said Redd was shot by his ex-girlfriend in self-defense, the station reported, and that the shooting was an isolated incident.
A WKYT reporter noted that several residents on the street said it wasn't the first time police had been seen at the house.
Redd was taken to a hospital; police told the station he was conscious but in serious condition.
