Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn Leads Convention Crowd in Anti-Clinton Chant: 'Lock Her Up'

"We do not need another reckless president who believes she's above the law."

CLEVELAND — Once thought to be a potential running mate for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn did not hold back his attacks against Hillary Clinton Monday night from the GOP convention floor.

Flynn excoriated Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, as he spoke from the GOP convention podium and suggested that the former secretary of state should be in jail.

"We do not need a reckless president who believes she is above the law," Flynn said, as the crowd began to chant, "lock her up."

"Lock her up, that's right," Flynn continued. "Yep, that's right. Lock her up."

Flynn also invoked Trump's nickname for his Democratic opponent — "Crooked Hillary" — and called for her to leave the presidential race.

Many in the Quicken Loans Arena left following Melania Trump's own speech to those at the convention prior to Flynn's address.
