Protesters invade Trump golf club in California to spell 'RESIST' on course with bodies
May 14, 2017
Hundreds of protesters invaded a golf course owned by the Trump business conglomerate in California on Saturday, trespassing on the course and spelling "RESIST!" with their bodies.
A group identifying themselves as "Indivisible San Pedro" invaded the Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes early Saturday morning between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. to pull off their stunt. According to KCBS-TV, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to the incident, but no arrests were made.
A member of the group told the Los Angeles news station they organized and performed the protest in order to bring attention to an issue that Democrats have been peddling since President Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in last year's presidential election: alleged connections between Russia and the Trump campaign.
Though no concrete evidence has yet surfaced to suggest any connection between Trump's campaign and Russia, the "Indivisible San Pedro" group held the protest because they want an independent special prosecutor to investigate the alleged Russia meddling.
Still, this isn't the first time protesters have invaded or vandalized a Trump golf property since Trump became president.
In March, protesters invaded the same golf club in California and burned the phrase "NO MORE TIGERS, NO MORE WOODS" into the course. Protesters also recently cut down trees at a Trump golf property in the Bronx.
