Don Lemon, CNN anchor, excoriated both President Donald Trump as well as his supporters on Wednesday morning, and claimed that those who support the president are "complicit" in racism.
Branding the president's latest remarks about Saturday's Charlottesville, Virginia terror attack "disgusting" and "un-American," Lemon claimed that Trump supporters no longer have any viable defense against the president's actions and words.
“Anyone who is an American who believes in this country should be speaking out against [Trump] and saying that it is wrong for him to do this,” Lemon said. "Anyone who was in that White House and is supporting him is complicit in their racism as well."
Lemon claimed that Trump's words are symptomatic of a larger problem with the president's demeanor and values, and claimed that Trump's pattern of "racism" has been well-documented for "decades."
“We know now why he was so obsessed with Barack Obama,” Lemon said of the president. “Barack Obama was a black president. Maybe he didn’t think he was fit to be in office.”
