Dean, the author of the “Freddy the Frogcaster” series, said her latest book, “Freddy the Frogcaster and the Flash Flood,” was released last month.
“When we saw the devastation in Texas, I thought, ‘How can I go out and promote a book about flash floods when all of this is happening?’” Dean said.
So Dean said she decided to donate all of her proceeds to the flood victims.
Dean said “every single penny” she receives from the book will go to Team Rubicon, a disaster relief organization that utilizes military veterans and first responders.
“Our veterans are out there in Houston helping others and this is a great foundation,” Dean said of Team Rubicon’s work.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Harvey and its aftermath have left at least 70 dead.
