Trump returns to his hometown for fundraising events. This is the welcome he received.

Protesters were out in full force to greet President Donald Trump's motorcade, which arrived in New York City on Saturday.

What happened?

As Trump's motorcade arrived in the city, protesters heckled the president, shouting chants of "Lock him up!" and "Traitor!"

Others, with fists raised, chanted "Hey, hey, ho, ho, Donald Trump has got to go!"

Justin Hendrix, Executive Director of NYC Media Lab, captured footage of the event and shared the video to Twitter.

To The Wrap, Hendrix said, "People are rightly angry at this President, who has revealed himself as racist, unfit and uninterested in appealing to anyone other than his dwindling base."

The video below features crowds of protesters rallying and holding up signs referencing the newly passed tax reform bill and more.

The president is visiting New York City for a series of fundraising events. Others visiting the city include White House counselor Kellyanne Conway and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin.
