A teenager was heading down a sidewalk in the Brooklyn section of Bensonhurst Tuesday morning when surveillance video caught a mugger running up to the kid from behind, pulling a gun and demanding his coat, police told the New York Daily News.

But the 16-year-old victim decided not to become one.
Instead the kid is seen reaching for the mugger's gun —

— and then seemingly lands a punch upon the surprised assailant's head.

The pair are seen tangling for several seconds on the snowy sidewalk along 61st Street near 18th Avenue, the paper said.

The mugger then falls to the ground and pulls down the teen down as well before pistol-whipping the boy several times before running off, the Daily News said.

The teen suffered cuts to his face and head, police told the paper. The mugger got nothing — but cops got a pretty decent image of him on the run.
