Viral video shows soldier’s emotional reaction to FaceTiming his wife during childbirth

A video featuring a U.S. soldier's emotional response to seeing his wife give birth to their daughter on  FaceTime while stranded at an airport has gone viral.

What are the details?

Brooks Lindsey, a U.S. soldier, was reportedly delayed at a Texas airport Saturday when his wife went into labor.

Lindsey was supposed to fly to Mississippi, and the delayed flight forced him to be away from his family for the big moment.

Fellow delayed passenger and Facebook user Tracy Dover shared a moving photo of Lindsey, which she captioned:

This Army soldier was on my delayed flight home yesterday to MS. He had to watch the birth of his daughter on FaceTime. He was crying and our hearts were breaking. We all gave him space. When we heard the baby cry, we all rejoiced for him. I wanted to share this because I never want us to forget about our soldiers who serve us everyday and the sacrifices they make.

Dover's photo has currently received more than 105,000 likes and 113,000 shares.

The video featuring Lindsey later surfaced on the social media platform and was published on his wife Haley's Facebook page.

Haley captioned the video, writing, "Here’s the video of Brooks Lindsey watching Millie come into the world."

At the time of this writing, the video has been viewed more than 190,000 times.

What else?

Haley told the story in her own words in an editorial piece published on the website, Love What Matters.

She explained that her husband was on his way home to be present for the birth of their child, Millie, when his flight became delayed.

Haley was at the hospital with her stepmother and mother-in-law, who were present in the birthing room, when Haley's mother-in-law decided to secretly FaceTime her son, Brooks.

"When I began to push, the Doctor asked what [Brooks' mother] was doing, and she showed my Doctor Brooks’ face on the screen and she realized what was going on," Haley wrote.

"Brooks was telling me it was okay, and I was doing so good and I heard him wincing and saying ‘wow!’ through my pushes," she added. "I could hear people in the airport talking and cheering! Brooks then went on to say that they were making him board and needed to get off as soon as she finally started to crown and all I remember was my Doctor screaming ‘Don’t let him board the flight! She’s here! She’s here!’ So, the airport personnel let him sit there and watch till it was over!"
