Amy Robach and TJ Holmes are out at ABC after scandalous extramarital affair, sources say

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are out at ABC, following their cheating scandal, according to multiple reports.

On Friday, TMZ reported that Robach and Holmes were not coming back to ABC or returning as "GMA3" anchors. Sources at ABC allegedly said both co-hosts would receive payouts.

The network insider purportedly said all parties involved took part in a "marathon mediation session" on Thursday that was described as "extremely contentious." ABC representatives reportedly accused Robach, 49, and Holmes, 45, of misconduct.

Another source confirmed that ABC was cutting ties with the anchors. Page Six said, "Essentially, we’re told the journalists have not yet signed on the dotted line, but an exit agreement is in the works and will happen imminently."

A source told Page Six, "Unless ABC reaches a satisfactory departure agreement with both Amy and T. J., they would both be looking at filing lawsuits against the network."

Robach had been with ABC since 2012. Holmes joined the network in 2014 after broadcast jobs at MSNBC and CNN. Robach and Holmes began working together on "GMA3" in 2020.

However, the pair weas suspended by the network in November after rumors of a scandalous extramarital affair surfaced. The Daily Mail published photos of Holmes and Robach appearing to be in a very close relationship.

The Daily Beast reported, "Days later, however, the pair were 'indefinitely' benched by the network, with ABC News President Kim Godwin reportedly telling an editorial meeting that the affair was an 'internal and external distraction.' Furthermore, the news boss told staffers the 'relationship is not a violation of company policy' but urged them to focus on work rather than gossiping about the situation."

ABC launched an investigation into the cheating scandal involving the anchors of the afternoon spin-off of "Good Morning America."

Since the suspension, the couple has been very public regarding their romantic relationship.

According to Fox News, "Public displays of affection between the duo were caught on camera, and Holmes has since been accused of other affairs with multiple former ABC News employees. Along the way, the cheating scandal resulted in workplace drama at ABC News."

An ABC News employee told Fox News, "I think it's definitely caused some internal drama and gossip. Everyone's seen the … headlines. I think people thought it would blow over, but new reports keep coming out."

Holmes was married to Marilee Fiebig for 13 years until he filed for divorce on Dec. 28, 2022. They have a child together.

Robach has been married to former "Melrose Place" actor Andrew Shue since February 2010.

No official replacements for Robach and Holmes have been named yet.
