Ocasio-Cortez tosses her former chief of staff under the bus over Pelosi feud

This is going to infuriate the progressive wing of the party

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) signaled that she was falling in line behind the leadership of the Democratic Party when she tossed her former chief of staff under the bus on Thursday.

Saikat Chakrabarti inspired a contentious firestorm between the progressive wing of the party and the establishment wing when he fired off a tweet that compared moderate Democrats to the segregationists of the party in previous ages.

"I think it was divisive," Ocasio-Cortez said of the tweet in an interview with the New York Daily News. "I believe in criticizing stances, but I don't believe in specifically targeting members."

The tweet enraged Democrats so thoroughly that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was forced to call a meeting of lawmakers where she scolded Ocasio-Cortez for the tweet.

The feud was only ended when the Democrats united to attack President Donald Trump after he sided with Pelosi and tweeted that four minority female members of Congress should go back to their home countries, despite only one being an immigrant.

Chakrabarti abruptly resigned soon after the feud, but Ocasio-Cortez denies that his controversial statements led to his ouster.

He also being investigated for claims that he might have violated campaign finance laws.

Here's more about Chakrabarti's problems:
