Colorado mother on the run after allegedly murdering her 2 children, injuring a third

A Colorado mother is apparently on the run after allegedly murdering two of her children and attempting to kill a third. The third survived the attack but suffered serious injuries.

Kimberlee Singler, 35, is being searched for by the Colorado Springs police after they responded to a report of a burglary at the woman's house on December 19, according to KDVR.

When the authorities arrived on the scene, they discovered Singler and her 11-year-old daughter, both of whom were apparently wounded. They also made the horrifying discovery of the bodies of Singler's 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son.

Singler and her surviving daughter were quickly taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries. The report did not indicate how the two children were killed.

KMGH reported that Singler was released from the hospital after being treated, as she was believed to be a victim in the case. The authorities apparently did not have probable cause to arrest her in connection with the two children's deaths.

However, USA Today reported several days after the incident that there was no credibility to the accusation of a burglary at the residence. The police told USA Today that "[a]t this time Ms. Singler is the primary suspect."

Homicide investigators reportedly obtained an arrest warrant for Singler on Tuesday, who was last seen on Saturday when she stayed at a relative's home.

Her current location is unknown, according to the authorities.

Singler currently faces a host of charges, including "four counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of child abuse, and first-degree assault," according to the New York Post.

One of Singler's neighbors, Daniel Lane, said that the development was "[v]ery surprising," adding that "[t]his has always been a quiet neighborhood. Nothing really happens here. We all really know each other."

“The kids play out here all the time. There was just a snowman right there that they built a week ago. It finally just melted."

“The fact she’s still on the loose, do I need a security door on my home? What’s happening? Where’d she go?” Lane added.

Reports stated that Singler's bond has been set at a staggering $10 million.

The authorities have said the 11-year-old child is being cared for.

It is currently unknown what motive Singler had for allegedly attacking her own children.
