Hollywood actress Debra Messing melted down over the Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade in a conference call with the White House, and it responded by sending out talking points to use on TikTok.
CNN reported the details about the Democrat conference call that included dozens of liberal celebrities and activists.
According to the report, Messing wondered what the point was to voting at all since she had "helped" Joe Biden win the presidency and the court still overturned abortion rights.
The mood of the call was described as "fatalistic" and many wondered what the point of the call was.
After the call, the White House sent out talking points for the depressed celebrities to use and also provided them with video snippets they could use in TikTok missives.
Other Democrats told CNN that the call was emblematic of the mood among liberals against Biden and a possible campaign for a second term in 2024.
One member of Congress called the White House "rudderless, aimless and hopeless.
The problem is one of basic management and the lack of leadership from the Biden administration.
"There's no fight," said another Democratic member to CNN. "People understand that a lot of this is out of his hands — but what you want to see is the President out there swinging."
Polling for Biden and the Democrats has been plummeting for months, leading most forecasters to predict that the party will suffer catastrophic losses in the upcoming midterm elections. In desperation, some are calling for Hillary Clinton to try to wrestle the Democratic nomination from Biden in order to save the party from almost certain doom in 2024.
