Denver police in search of woman reportedly involved in mass shooting at Dierks Bentley's bar

Denver police are searching for a woman who was allegedly involved in a mass shooting that took place at a bar in the Lower Downtown district. Five people were injured in the incident.

The shooting reportedly took place at Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row around 11:14 p.m. on Saturday. Surveillance cameras stationed in the area caught a woman pointing a firearm toward five people who were standing outside the establishment, per the Independent.

The incident occurred after the woman was reportedly denied entry into the bar. She started to walk away from the area, but she soon returned to speak with the security staff. And when she walked away from the establishment for the second time, she apparently turned around and fired in the direction of the bar. Five people were injured in the incident, though the authorities claim they were not the intended target.

Officers made it to the scene, along with paramedics who rushed the injured victims to the hospital. The report suggested that the injuries suffered were not life-threatening.

"We are disheartened by the events of last evening," Lissa Druss, a spokesperson for Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row, said. "We are grateful for the swift actions of DPD, but we are very concerned about the activity in LoDo and have been engaged with city officials and neighborhood leaders on how to make positive improvements in the area. The safety of our staff and our patrons is paramount to our company."

The report stated that there has been no arrest made in connection with the shooting. The bar where the shooting took place opened in 2021, one of a chain of establishments that was brought about by the American country music singer Dierks Bentley.

The shooting was just one of two incidents that occurred in Denver in the past week. The second one took place on 17th Avenue, between Gilpin Street and Williams Street, where a total of three people were shot. The incident took place on Monday night.

The Denver police took to X, posting: "DPD is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 1700 Blk E 17th Ave. 3 victims transported to the hospital, unknown condition at this time. A possible suspect was arrested. DPD officers are still actively investigating this incident."

They posted again shortly after, writing: "Preliminary info indicates the suspect fired shots striking an adult male victim who was driving on E 17th Ave and subsequently crashed. This victim has died from his injuries. A female passenger sustained injuries from the crash."
