Florist declines to service Republican National Committee event: 'The blood of the 3 beautiful babies we lost in Nashville is on that money'

A Nashville flower business announced that it refused to service a Republican National Committee event, claiming that there is blood on the RNC's money and urging other companies to decline to do business with the GOP until it starts changing gun laws.

In a statement posted on social media, FLWR Shop described the event as an "RNC fundraising event" that would feature former President Donald Trump and other prominent Republicans. "We would like to challenge others in the Nashville event industry to say no to taking money or jobs from the Republican party until they begin to make the changes to gun laws that most Americans are calling for," the statement declares.

The event being referenced appears to be the RNC Donor Retreat in Nashville, for which special guests listed include Trump, former Vice President Mike Pence, governors, lawmakers, and others.

"We have a lot of clients that are conservatives, and we respect their views and appreciate their business. We feel like there is room in America for liberals, conservatives, and everyone in between," the business wrote in response to the request for service. "Unfortunately, this event and some of the speakers listed are beyond our comfort level.

"Our community has just lost seven people, including three young children, to yet another school shooting. At this moment I cannot ignore the work that the RNC has done to create this tragedy and so many others just like it," the message reads. "The Republican Party has wasted taxpayer money and precious legislative will on banning drag shows, rather than rifles that are being used to murder children in their classrooms."

A shooter killed three children and three adults at a Christian school in Nashville last month — police fatally shot the perpetrator.

"We will not be accepting any of your money. The blood of the 3 beautiful babies we lost in Nashville is on that money. We cannot find any logic in a morality that refuses to try to prevent the murder of children just to ensure that people aren't inconvenienced when they want to obtain a gun. We certainly can't find the moral logic in helping that set of ideas spread. So, we will have no part in it," the message states.
