Jane Fonda suggests murdering pro-lifers as a way to push pro-choice agenda, later says she was joking

While expressing pro-choice sentiments during an appearance on "The View," left-wing actress and activist Jane Fonda mentioned "murder" as a way to ensure that women have access to abortions, but she has since issued a statement claiming that her comment was meant as a joke.

"We have experienced many decades now of having agency over our body, of being able to determine when," as well as "how many children to have. We know what that feels like. We know what that's done for our lives," Fonda said on the show. "We're not goin' back. I don't care what the laws are."

When "The View" cohost Joy Behar asked Fonda what actions she would suggest besides protesting, Fonda suggested "murder." Behar jumped in to say that Fonda was only "kidding." Fonda made a face, but did not state whether she was joking.

But Fonda has now put out a statement asserting that she was just joking and engaging in "hyperbole"

"While women’s reproductive rights are a very serious issue and extremely important to me, my comment on The View was obviously made in jest," Fonda noted in a statement, according to Fox News Digital. "My body language and tone made it clear to those in the room - and to anyone watching - that I was using hyperbole to make a point."

"Women across the country are facing real threats when it comes to our bodies, and people lose faith in our mission to protect women when others choose to focus on tangential issues and passing jokes instead of the actual problem at hand," she said.

Fonda is a purveyor of climate alarmism. A description of her book "What Can I Do? The Path from Climate Despair to Action" states, that, "We are facing a climate crisis, but we’re also facing an empathy crisis, an inequality crisis. It isn’t only earth’s life-support systems that are unraveling. So too is our social fabric. This is going to take an all-out war on drilling and fracking and deregulation and racism and misogyny and colonialism and despair all at the same time."
