'Insane barbarism': Israeli father says Hamas tried to sell his soldier son's head for $10,000

An Israel Defense Forces soldier's father said Hamas terrorists tried to sell his son's head for $10,000, according to Fox News Digital. The horrific revelation comes as Israel continues to carry out military operations in Gaza after Hamas launched a surprise attack against the Jewish state on October 7.

David Tahar said it "is just insane barbarism," going on to mention that he had tried to recover his son's head after the IDF recovered his body following the October 7 attack. "A father needs to know everything about his children," Tahar said.

"From a CT scan I received recently, his whole body is full of shrapnel, and unfortunately the body of Adir was also abused after he was killed," Tahar said. During the October 7 attack, Hamas slaughtered 1,200 Israelis and abducted 240 more.

Tahar said his son, Cpl. Adir Tahar, 19, was killed after an anti-tank missile exploded nearby as he was trying to save some of his comrades. The strike resulted in significant devastation to the Golani Brigade unit. Hamas terrorists reportedly beheaded the 19-year-old following the attack.

The authorities were only able to identify Tahar's body after DNA tests. The National Post reported that the Israeli Security Agency, sometimes known as Shin Bet or Shabak, carried out two interrogations of Hamas terrorists. One of the terrorists admitted that they had tried to sell the head for $10,000.

After the information was revealed, an IDF unit launched a search for the young man's head and eventually found it in a freezer in an ice cream shop in Gaza City, per the report. There were also tennis balls and terroristic documents beside the head when it was discovered.

The man's father told Fox News Digital that "Amir was a very, very smart boy, a humble boy, a very talented boy, a loved boy, a boy who tried to create unity between his friends, between his family members."

"Adir was the third of four kids, a really special kid: a kid who tried to bring only good into the world. … Adir was a kid who cared for others. He would always care for his friends. He was very proud to be in Golani."

The Golani Brigade is among the most famous units in the IDF, per reports.
