Liberals lash out at white women over election losses in Virginia

The Democratic Party of Virginia sustained significant losses on election day and many on the left singled out white women as the blameworthy culprit for their bad fortune.

While many in the media blamed racism and white supremacism in general, others pointed to a large swing in support from white women who voted for President Joe Biden in 2020 but voted for the Republican candidate in the 2021 gubernatorial election.

According to NBC exit polling, white women who graduated from college voted for former Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe over Republican Glenn Youngkin in a greater margin than they voted for Biden over former President Donald Trump in 2020.

But white women without college degrees went from a 12% margin in favor of Trump in 2020 to an astounding 50% margin in favor of Youngkin over McAuliffe just one year later.

Liberals and others excoriated white women on social media over their change in voting habits.

"White women did their duty and supported white supremacy," tweeted Bishop Talbert Swan.

"Black voters didn't 'work hard enough' to 'save democracy' and keep Dems in power," he added. "Critical Race Theory (American History) is the white racist rallying cry."

"57percent White women voted in Virginia to elect someone who will put their lives in the toilet," tweeted actress Rosanna Arquette.

"Digging in further to exactly how much fellow white women in Virginia chose racism over things like their own bodily autonomy," tweeted disability organizer Sarah Blahovec.

"White women, who swung the election for Youngkin, chose racism over their own reproductive rights," replied activist Lindy Li. "And we wonder why women's rights are slipping away…"

"Plain and simple White Women in Virginia showed up in droves to support and vote for racism. Period," said a detractor who supports Black Lives Matter.

The Virginia elections were seen as a bellwether for the 2022 midterms where Republicans are expected to retake the U.S. House of Representatives because of an easy slate of political races.
