Viral video shows Dodgers fan catch a foul ball with his bare hand while carrying a baby — without spilling his beer

A Los Angeles Dodgers fan was praised online after video showed him catching a baseball with his bare hand while carrying his baby —without spilling the beer in his other hand.

The multi-tasking dad made the impressive grab during the game between the Dodgers and the St. Louis Cardinals at the stadium in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday.

"Dad's making plays!" said the announcer over a replay of the catch. "A beverage, a baby, and a baseball!"

The official social media account of the Dodgers posted the video to Twitter, where it quickly garnered more than 1.1 million views.

He was lauded by many on social media.

"This is the trifecta of baseball and what we all as fathers aspire to. It’s the pinnacle. Triple BBB Baby beer baseball," read one tweet.

"Dad power at dodger stadium is insane," replied another user.

The man was later identified by KNBC-TV as Steve Pettit, an engineer at the Glendale Fire Department and a lifelong Dodgers fan.

"The ball just kind of came up, and it was kind of like slow motion," Pettit told KNBC. "It was sort of like, ‘Boop!’ It just like came right to my hand."

His wife Misty said she was stunned by the moment and whipped out her own camera to record the audience's reaction.

"I pulled my camera out and started to record the reaction because the crowd was going wild, which was really fun to see," she said.

The Dodgers did their part and went on to beat the Cardinals 6 to 3, sweeping their opponents in the series meetup.
