Woke video game company reportedly fires employee for following right-leaning Twitter accounts: 'LRG respects all personal opinions, however ...'
January 09, 2023
The video game company Limited Run Games — which specializes in selling old school, physical copies of video games in a market saturated with digital options — has apparently catered to the leftist social media mob and terminated an employee whose opinions somehow ran afoul of the company's "inclusive culture."
According to reports, former LRG community manager Kara Lynne was terminated because she followed Twitter accounts that leftist bullies on Twitter do not like. The mob movement to cancel Lynne appears to have been spearheaded by an account named @prpltnkr or "Purple Tinker." Screenshots indicate that Purple Tinker bombarded LRG with a series of tweets, indicating that Lynne follows the Twitter accounts of Libs of TikTok, former "Mandalorian" actress Gina Carano, and political commentator Ian Miles Cheong.
"The community manager for @LimitedRunGames, @/KaraLynne0326, is a transphobe who follows a veritable who's who of right-wing transphobic creeps," Purple Tinker wrote. "Unless and until she is fired from the company permanently, I am not giving them another single dime."
Purple Tinker then indicated that he or she had spent "hundreds, maybe thousands, of dollars" on LRG items, but "[t]hat ends now."
There is also some indication that leftists were outraged that Lynne may be a "Harry Potter" fan and that, nearly seven years ago, she may have posted a tweet that may now be considered "transphobic." Screenshots indicate that in May 2016, Lynne tweeted: "If you think the # of trans crying about using a bathroom is higher than the perves using the excuse, you are what is wrong with this world."
Shortly after Purple Tinker and others targeted LRG about Lynne's personal opinions, she was reportedly "terminated." LRG issued a statement at 5:40 p.m. on January 6, the same day that Purple Tinker and others launched their attack against Lynne:
"LRG respects all personal opinions," a tweet from LRG stated, "however we remain committed to supporting an inclusive culture. Upon investigating a situation, an employee was terminated. Our goal as a company is to continue to foster a positive and safe environment for everyone."

That statement then received a strong backlash from other Twitter users, so LRG quickly limited those who could comment on it.
Between LRG's mission to offer loyal Nintendo and PlayStation gamers physical video games with its marketing campaign "Forever Physical," it might seem that LRG's leadership would likewise be rather traditionally minded. However, screenshots of tweets from its CEO, Douglas "Dougie" Bogart, suggest otherwise. Bogart includes his preferred pronouns in his Twitter profile, has promoted Black Lives Matter, and has even warned fellow gamers not to tell "companies with American citizens they aren't allowed to have opinions."
“Here's the CEO of Limited Run Games who fired an employee bc she followed Gina Carano, Blaire White, & Libs of TikTok.

Douglas Bogart (he/him) says people should only be allowed to post their personal opinions if you're a woke liberal.”— Datareacer (@Datareacer) 1673170355
Bogart and Lynne have both made their Twitter accounts private, and the Purple Tinker account has been deleted or deactivated entirely, so verifying some of these tweets is challenging. However, plenty of freedom-loving Twitter users have expressed their opinions about LRG's apparently ready capitulation to leftist social media pressure.
“She is probably better off not working for woke totalitarians. I can’t imagine having to deal with the pronoun brigade 40+ hours per week. Also, @LimitedRunGames deserve only your scorn, not your money.”— Christina Pushaw 🐊 🇺🇸 (@Christina Pushaw 🐊 🇺🇸) 1673233726

“If you bought LRG products, stop now. This employee was fired for (checks notes) following Ian Miles Cheong and Libs of TikTok on Twitter. This ends now.
