President Donald Trump visited Texas yesterday to assess the damage caused by Tropical Storm Harvey and to coordinate with FEMA. Congressman Kevin Brady (R-Texas) called in to “The Chris Salcedo Show” today to report on his visit with Trump and also to talk about the president's plans for tax reform.

He told Chris Salcedo that he met with Trump yesterday in Austin, as the president was there with FEMA to plan a long recovery for East Texas. Brady says that what he’s seen so far has “really been encouraging.”

The congressman also talked about plans for Congress to work with Trump on tax reform when they return from recess in September. Trump delivered a speech today in Springfield, Missouri, and told the crowd that Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) must make the commitment to tax reform, or they should vote her out of office.

Brady said that he expects to see “bold, transformational, Reagan-style tax reform” once the House returns to Washington D.C., next week.
