ESPN selects New Orleans for LSU-BYU kickoff game after Harvey halts game in Houston

The AdvoCare Texas Kickoff game, originally scheduled to be played at Houston’s NRG Stadium this Saturday, has been moved to New Orleans.

The game will now take place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN. Many questioned why New Orleans, who is expected to be inundated with rain from Hurricane Harvey, was chosen at all.

Today on “Pat & Stu” the guys discussed NCAA’s decision to move the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff game from Houston to New Orleans.

“I believe I’ve become now a de facto BYU fan. Because of you, I have become a BYU fan. And I am really pissed at the NCAA for moving the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff game from Houston to New Orleans. It’s like the backyard of LSU,” said Jeffy Fisher.

Among the list of potential venues was AT&T Stadium, formerly Cowboys Stadium. It is the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff game after all, so it would make sense for it to be in Texas.
