'We are one election away from losing the Constitution': Glenn Beck on why 2020 Democratic hopefuls embrace the Green New Deal

On Wednesday's episode of "The Glenn Beck Radio Program," Glenn explained why he believes "we are one election away from losing the Constitution of the United States of America."

"The fundamental transformation that Barack Obama was looking for is this [upcoming] presidential election away," Glenn said.

He questioned why nearly all the Democrats who are running for president in 2020 have jumped to support the Green New Deal during a time of historically low unemployment and strong economy in the United States. By comparison, the original New Deal was instituted by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to offer relief for the unemployed and impoverished during the Great Depression in the 1930s.

"Yes, we have our problems, but we are the best we've been in this situation ... it doesn't get better than this. So, why would you introduce a New Deal at a time like this?" asked Glenn.

"The Green New Deal is [proposing] guaranteed housing, guaranteed jobs, guaranteed income, guaranteed food. That's not the United States of America," he continued. "That goes against everything in the Constitution. It flips us from an individual-based country ... where the individual is empowered ... and turns us into the former Soviet Union or any other true socialist state ... where [the government] redistributes the land and the income, and they dictate what is fair and what is not."

Glenn went on to say that if Americans don't step up to protect and preserve the Constitution of the United States while the economy is strong and employment is at an all-time high, then the next election may spell the "end of the American experiment."

"It can happen that fast, and will," he added.
