Kate Smith, civil rights activist, is being erased from history
On Monday's episode of "The News & Why it Matters," Sara Gonzales, Glenn Beck, Stu Burguiere, and Jeff Fisher played the "Stop. Go. Game" as they discussed "jihad" on statues.
In this clip, the panel explained the irony of this story considering that Kate Smith was a civil rights activist, and "Pickaninny" was a satirical song that made fun of racists.

Fox News reported that the Philadelphia Flyers removed a statue of Smith, an American icon who was known for her singing of "God Bless America," recorded in 1939, because of her song called "Pickaninny Heaven" — "pickaninny" was known during that time as a racial slur.
