Glenn: Google is trying to ‘fix discrimination with discrimination’

Glenn Beck

The Google software engineer whose 10-page memo critiquing Google’s diversity programs went viral over the weekend has been fired. In a statement, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that “portions of the memo violate our Code of Conduct and cross the line by advancing harmful gender stereotypes in our workplace.”

Along with other problems outlined in the memo, the engineer who was fired objected to Google diversity programs that are only geared toward women and minorities. “How do you fix discrimination with discrimination?” Glenn Beck asked on Tuesday’s “The Glenn Beck Radio Program.”

The engineer’s memo outlined some general differences between men and women and hypothesized that every gender gap isn’t automatically due to sexism. If Google truly values diversity, then the company should be aware that people have differences.

“This is the heart wanting to be the head, or the foot wanting to be the hand,” Glenn said. “Everything is unique and has purpose.”
