He cornered me': Reporter Lauren Sivan shares Weinstein harassment story on 'Megyn Kelly Today

What's happening?

Film producer Harvey Weinstein, the mogul behind “Gangs of New York,” “Pulp Fiction” and “Shakespeare in Love,” has lost his empire. The Weinstein Company board fired him after a flood of allegations that Weinstein used his position and power to harass women.

How bad is it?

If the decades’ worth of accusations are genuine, Weinstein has been a sexual predator in Hollywood for years.

Reporter Lauren Sivan talked on Megyn Kelly’s show today about an incident from 10 years ago, claiming that Weinstein tried to kiss her and then exposed himself when she rebuffed him.

“He cornered me… and leaned in and tried to kiss me which I immediately rebuffed,” Sivan said. “He exposed himself and began pleasuring himself. And I just stood there dumbfounded.”

Glenn’s take:

Remember that Weinstein’s company didn’t fire him because they suddenly found out about the sexual misconduct allegations – they fired him because the years of rumors and accusations finally caught up to him when the stories became public.
