Liberal millennial pens powerful message to Glenn Beck after CNN interview

After an exhausting week of heated arguments over gun control and school safety, Glenn made a Sunday appearance on CNN to encourage Americans on both the left and right to stop “trying to just win and be right, [and start] listening to each other."

Glenn explained that the interview was an opportunity to reach people who would "never listen to me because of our different team jersey.” People on both sides of the aisle are seeing that "gutter politics" are tearing our country apart. "We may not all see America exactly the same way, but we do want to live with a Bill of Rights. They understand that there is no future in being more devoted to the 'party's jersey' than to the 'Constitutional team,'" said Glenn on today's show.

After viewing the interview on CNN, a young man named Maxwell sent a surprising letter to Glenn. 

Here's what he wrote:

Mr. Beck,

I never thought I would be writing to you. Especially not to thank you for anything, but here I am. As a 23-year-old liberal who was pretty politically aware throughout middle and high school, you once represented one of the biggest problems our country had to me.

But after your interview on CNN, I felt something I haven't felt in a long time. Hope. True, honest to god, hope for the future of this country. Not the kind of partisan hope that "my team" wins, but the kind of hope that we an all figure out that we're all on the same team. The America team.

I had given up, Mr. Beck. American politics were beyond saving, in my eyes. But if Glenn freaking Beck, of all people, can come out and extend an olive branch to try and start building a bridge between the two Americas, then I know I shouldn't give up. Please, don't stop trying to fix this, you're going to take flack from both sides. The right will call you a traitor and the left will call you a liar. But you'll have my support, and you'll have the support of everyone else who's fed up with the constant war of outrage and scandal.

"Maxwell, thank you," said Glenn in return. "Your letter actually really gives me hope. We have to resist the soundbite, knee-jerk reaction world and actually stand for principles."
