Sunday's French election paralleled the American election -- here's how

On Monday's "Glenn," Glenn Beck and the Think Tank panel discussed the implications of the election of Emmanuel Macron to the French presidency on Sunday. Glenn believed efforts to destabilize the Middle East are now spilling into France and Europe.

He remarked that France had the lowest voter turn out in French history. Most French people, like voters during the 2016 American presidential election, did not care for either candidate. Another similarity was the hacking of left leaning candidate Macron by Russian group Fancy Bear, who also hacked the Democratic National Committee.

Former military intelligence officer Jason Buttrill took the panel through the information revealed by the hack, such as dirty financial laundry and campaign corruption. He suspected it was not released earlier in the election process because those who released the information are "playing a long game."

The Russian group knew Macron would win the election in a landslide, but several years down the road they will likely use the information released in the hacked emails in order to make a case against him.
