Conservatives fight back against Steven Crowder Twitter suspension with #FreeCrowder
March 14, 2018
Three members of the "Louder with Crowder" studio team, including CRTV host Steven Crowder, have been suspended from Twitter after posting a video of a show intern infiltrating a "Gender Non-conformity" meetup at the SXSW conference in Austin, Texas, last weekend. Crowder's suspension from Twitter comes following vicious assaults on his character by leftists smearing him as a "neo-Nazi" and alt-right racists using fake social media posts to wrongly claim that Crowder is one of them.
On Tuesday, Twitter notified Crowder, his producer Jared Monroe, and his intern, who goes by the alias Sven Computer, that the video violated Twitter rules against hateful conduct and that their accounts would be temporarily limited. The video has also been removed from YouTube for violating the terms of service. Initially, the Crowder team believed their original posts were removed because the word "f*ggot" was not censored.
Here’s what we think happened. The original video that went out didn’t have the word “f*ggot” soft bleeped. The original video was immediately pulled from YouTube, Twitter and Facebook as the studio team added bleeps for the “offensive” content. After the bleeps were added into the video, the studio re-uploaded the SXSW undercover video back to YouTube and Facebook.
But after the team removed the original video, censored it, and posted it on @NotGayJared's account, Monroe was also suspended. "So the score: video removed, video made as safe as possible, Twitter still has Steven’s and NotGayJared’s accounts suspended," reported LouderwithCrowder.com editor at large Courtney Kirchoff.
The Crowder team believes they are being unfairly targeted as conservatives.
"The agenda is clear: thou shalt not be a conservative. Thou shalt not offend the social justice left. Thou shalt not question the leftist agenda. Thou shalt not, at any time, ever, mock the social justice left for all the dumbassery it clearly is," she wrote.
As evidence, they point to racist and neo-Nazi Twitter accounts sharing fake quotes purporting to be from Crowder and defaming him as a racist.

Accounts spreading fake news about Crowder like the one above have yet to be suspended from Twitter. The libel these Twitter accounts spread has directly led to further injurious assaults on his character. Crowder has repeatedly reported the accounts spreading fake, libelous tweets to Twitter, but Twitter took no action against them.
On March 5, a University of Texas at Arlington lecturer named Charles Hermes, based on information from these fake tweets, falsely claimed that Crowder "calls graphically for murder and extermination of Jews and LGBT people." Hermes, in a since-removed Facebook post, used screen captures of fake tweets from a neo-Nazi website as "evidence" that Crowder is an alt-right racist. He called on people to contact the president of Southern Methodist University to push back against an upcoming Crowder event on SMU's campus hosted by Young Americans for Freedom.
In Twitter's apparent zeal to purge conservative views from its platform, its minders have neglected to delete actual fake news about Crowder, which has led to his defamation and a campaign to prevent him from speaking on a college campus.
The Crowder team is urging his audience and fellow conservatives to fight back against Twitter's censorship by tweeting with #FreeCrowder.
