GOP senators are signing on to formally call out due process problems in the House Dems' impeachment probe

The following is an excerpt from Blaze Media’s Capitol Hill Brief email newsletter:

A majority of Senate Republicans have joined on to an effort to get House Democrats to make procedural changes their impeachment probe.

The resolution, announced Wednesday afternoon by Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Lindsey Graham, calls on House Democrats to hold a floor vote authorizing an impeachment inquiry, "provide President Trump, like every other American, with due process," and provide House Republicans "with the ability to participate fully in all proceedings."

At one point during the press conference announcing the resolution, Graham was asked how he would have responded as a House member if the Senate has similarly weighed in on the impeachment of Bill Clinton. "I think if we were doing this, you'd be beating the s*** out of us," Graham responded. “I am confident that if we had an intel committee inquiry involving a Democratic president where we selectively leaked stuff, you’d be calling us every kind of bad name, and we would deserve it. So what I am saying is there’s a right way to do [impeachment] and a wrong way to do it, and this is a dangerous way to do it.”

Graham says that 46 GOP senators have thus far signed on to the resolution.
