March for Our Lives founder declines TIME 'Person of the Year' nod

On Monday, TIME magazine revealed its shortlist of finalists for "Person of the Year." Among the finalists is the March for Our Lives gun control movement, founded by students of Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, after the school shooting that took place earlier this year.

In a short statement posted to Twitter, March for Our Lives founder Cameron Kasky said that if the group wins, he will respectfully decline the nomination.

You don't need to agree with the gun control measures March for Our Lives pushes to recognize a mature and honorable statement from Kasky. Good for him.
