Police officers, firefighters, and Make-A-Wish team up to grant one little boy's dream

The Make-A-Wish Foundation and North Myrtle Beach police officers and firefighters teamed up to give a little boy who recently received a heart transplant a whole day to be like his heroes.

Six-year-old Bryson Jones is a big fan the Nickelodeon show "Paw Patrol" and of police and firefighters. On Thursday, he got to be Officer Jones and spent the day cruising around in a police car and visiting the local police and fire stations, WBTW reports. He tried out some of the equipment and had a great time.

"It was a blessing. Last year this time, we didn't know if he was going to be here or not, and the fact that he is here and he's well, he's running around playing, he's not hooked up to an IV," said Bryson's mom, Salanda Jones.

"When they came, his little face was priceless. It lit up," said Jones.

At age 5, Bryson was diagnosed with a heart condition, and doctors said he would need a new heart. After waiting more than six months, he received his new heart in June.

The surprises didn't end with his day as a police officer. Once Bryson is fully recovered, Make-A-Wish will send him on a trip to Disney World.

We salute Make-A-Wish and the great police and firefighters of Myrtle Beach, S.C., for making this little boy's wish come true!
