‘This happens way too often’: Levin pays tribute to slain NY cop

On a Wednesday night segment of his radio program, Mark Levin paid tribute to fallen NYPD officer Miosotis Familia — a mother of three who was murdered early that morning.

Familia was killed shortly after midnight while sitting in her patrol vehicle in the Bronx, and was shot by a supporter of a violent, anti-cop street gang, Conservative Review’s Jordan Schachtel reports.

“This happens way too often,” Levin somberly stated, noting a widespread anti-police sentiment unprecedented in his lifetime.

“This environment for shooting at cops, for assassinating cops, I don’t remember anything like this,” the Conservative Review editor-in-chief said. “Not in the last 50 years.”

Levin then played the chaotic, heartrending audio from the police scanner moments after Familia was shot, saying: “You really tear up when you hear something like that.”

One factor that contributes to such a hostile, dangerous climate for America’s law enforcement is a disregard — and even antagonism — for the rule of law, for which the previous administration is partially to blame.

“When you rip at society, and you keep at it and you keep at it and you keep at it, you destroy that society,” Levin lamented. “You cannot have liberty without order. It’s not possible. You have mobocracy.”
