Sometimes it only takes 30 seconds to render a lot of expensive TV production effort totally worthless.
This come to us from the New Mexico governor's race. The Republican frontrunner is Susana Martinez. She's facing Bill Richardson's Lieutenant Governor Diane Denish.
Without giving away the punchline here, the NEA launched the original salvo on behalf of Denish. It didn't work out very well:

Thus far the Denish campaign has not commented on whether or not they had approved of the NEA ad ahead of time.
The race is close -- but Martinez has a slight lead. As Ed Morrisey says, "Don’t be surprised to see that trend accelerate a bit after this round of dueling attack ads."
