John Roman fought in Gen. George Patton's 3rd Army at the Battle of the Bulge, but the aged soldier recently fell victim to a punk mugger who attacked Roman in the bathroom of an Atlantic City casino Sunday morning.
According to local Fox affiliate WTFX, the World War II veteran and Toms River, N.J., resident was using a men's bathroom urinal in Bally's Wild West Casino when an unidentified assailant choked Roman from behind, threw him to the floor and fled with his wallet. Roman was bruised and shaken but refused medical treatment following the ordeal.
The alleged attacker could be seen on surveillance video leaving the bathroom. He's black and dressed in a solid-black baseball cap along with a distinctive black jacket with two silver epaulettes on the shoulders. He also had on blue jeans and a grey hooded sweatshirt.
The New Jersey State Police are hoping the video will help identify Roman's attacker.
