Glamour and Hillary

September's issue of Glamour magazine features a Q&A with Hillary Clinton that explores her softer side. But don't tell her we said that.

"One thing I’ve never been called is soft," the Secretary of State told the mag, when asked whether her work with children seemed "a bit First Lady-ish." She added, "Who are the people in the world most denied their rights to life and livelihood? Women and girls."

In the interview, Clinton said she isn't sure what she'll do when her gig at the State Department is up, but admitted she's ready to rest for a while (a point she stressed at length last month in an interview with BBC).

During the last presidential election, Clinton's approval rating was in the mid 40s. As of May, it's in the upper 60s, something she says she's happy with. "A lot of my friends are so pleased," Clinton said. "One said, 'I’m so glad people are seeing you the way we’ve always seen you.' And I am too. Because I want to get out of the caricature that too many people have put me in.
