The First Lady now has a Twitter account. Or, rather, President Barack Obama's reelection campaign has created an account using Michelle Obama's name.

"This account is run by #Obama2012 campaign staff. Tweets from the First Lady are signed -mo.," the bio of @michelleobama reads. The first tweet was sent out around 8 a.m Thursday, simply announcing the creation of the account. It currently has just over 4,000 followers.

As has been demonstrated time and time again, social media can lead to disaster in the hands of public figures (think Anthony Weiner and, more recently, Ron Paul). Let's see if Michelle can handle the power.
