I Bet You Wish I Was Joking About This': Emails About Olbermann's 'Diva' Car Needs Revealed

"The man who professes to be for the 99% doesn’t want any of the 99% talking to him or being near him."

Emails obtained by the New York Post appear to shed some additional light on the circumstances surrounding Keith Olbermann's firing from Current TV last week -- particularly his complaints about smelly, talkative drivers.

As The Blaze previously reported, Olbermann had apparently complained that drivers from the car services Current employed "smelled" and "talked to him" -- resulting in the network going through eight car companies during the host's less-than-a-year tenure.

“The problem is with him...the man who professes to be for the 99% doesn’t want any of the 99% talking to him or being near him,” one Current TV accounting executive complained in an email published by the Post.

In a separate email, an assistant emailed the accounting department to say she had just maxed out her corporate credit card in trying to find a service whose drivers would meet Olbermann's "exacting standards."

“I bet you wish I was joking about this...but we have yet another car service we need to open an account with," the assistant wrote. “Any chance we can get this ASAP? I keep putting the charges on my corporate card and I’m afraid it will go over the limit soon!”

The assistant reportedly settled on a new car service called "Diva." It wasn't to last long, however -- Olbermann was dumped from the network shortly after the company was hired.

Olbermann appeared on "The Late Show with David Letterman" Tuesday, during which he addressed some of the car service controversy.

“The story is that we changed car services a couple times and that I got rid of them -- maybe there were like eight different car services,” Olbermann said. “The problem that’s left out of that side of the story was that in at least one occasion, the car service stopped coming to get me because the bill hadn’t been paid. So -- and I know that makes me Attila the Hun because the bill wasn’t paid.”
