Romney pitches to the African-American community

Looking to appeal to the African-American community which has predominately voted against his party in recent presidential elections, the campaign blog of Mitt Romney released a post this morning addressing the failing policies of Barack Obama before the former Massachusetts governor's speech to the NCAAP convention Tuesday afternoon.

The post argues that President Obama's policies have failed many African-Americans who voted for him in 2008.

President Obama’s policies are failing us. The African American unemployment rate increased by almost an entire percentage point last month and, at 14.4 percent, it is almost double that of the nation’s overall unemployment rate. This is simply unacceptable.

We cannot settle for another month of nearly non-existent job creation. President Obama’s policies have made a bad situation worse for struggling African American families.

In addition to changing the current course on job creation, Romney pitched a plan that addresses the failure and lack of choice in the education system for low-income, urban areas-- an area where many Democrats offer shady and conflicting solutions. Watch Romney's speech before the NCAAP convention Wednesday that drew mixed reactions from the crowd.
