Police lost keys to stadium day before Romney's Olympics gaffe

Mitt Romney caught some flack for saying reports of security problems and other personnel issues heading into the Olympic Games in London were "disconcerting." It's now being reported that a day before he made the comment, police had lost a set of keys to Wembley Stadium.

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: "On the morning of Tuesday 24 July officers on Olympic police operations at Wembley stadium reported that internal security keys, being used by them as part of searches, were missing."

In her statement, the spokeswoman also said "measures were taken immediately to secure all key areas of the venue" and that security had "not been compromised in any way."

The stadium is one of six locations being used in the soccer football tournament of the Games.
