Real News From The Blaze': Conflict Begins to Spread Beyond Syrian Borders

The Syrian conflict continued during a brutal and escalating day Wednesday, as insurgents claimed responsibility for exploding a fuel tanker near a hotel housing the United Nations in Demascus, and 30 Syrians were abducted inside Lebanese territory by a powerful Lebanese Shiite family in response to a relative kidnapped inside Syria. The Free Syrian Army has claimed responsibility for the bombing, and the Shiite Lebanese family allegedly support the Assad regime and are seeking to trade their captives for kidnapped relatives.

The Associated Press also reports that Syrian fighter jets carried out two bombing runs over the rebel-held town of Azaz Wednesday, killing at least eight, including a baby, while injuring dozens of other civilians who were mostly women and children.

As the Syrian war appears to be maintaing a bloody level of violence, it's spilling over beyond its borders to Lebanon, and on Tuesday Defense Secretary Leon Panetta explicitly stated that there is a "growing presence" of Iran in the conflict, allegedly aiding the Syrian regime.

Joined by Jonathan Schanzer of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, the "Real News" roundtable Wednesday reviewed the latest developments in Syria and whether the region has begun to destabilize. Watch a clip from the show below:
