State-Controlled Iranian Paper: 'Zionist Regime' Spreading Homosexuality to Control the World

The next time you get the urge to complain about the accuracy, or lack thereof, in the mainstream media here in the U.S., consider a recent report from a state-controlled Iranian paper that argued the "Zionist regime" is spreading "homosexuality" across the world in order to achieve its ultimate goal of taking over the world.

The report has some analysts outraged at Iran's ugly display of homophobia and antisemitism, The Jerusalem Post reports.

Mashregh News, an outlet associated with radical Islamists in Qom, reported that the "Jews" are providing cash to the United States and the UK so they can spread homosexuality across the globe.

The article demeaned Israel for encouraging gay rights rallies and referred to Tel Aviv as the "gay paradise on earth." Conservative Jews were also targeted in the report for allowing gay rabbis to practice in the church. Further, the paper demanded that Western governments stop allowing people to be gay because it was immoral and urged them to provide "medical treatment" for the homosexuals and cure them from homosexuality.

Posting on the gay website GGG, one person wrote that that the Mashregh article  "reads like an article from the Nazi agitation paper Der Stürmer."

Dr. Wahied Wahdat-Hagh, an expert on minority groups in Iran, told The Jerusalem Post that the article is "against gays, against the West and anti-Semitic."

"The text legitimizes the execution of gays in Iran; they made a text not only to ridicule the West but to provide a reason why Iran executes gays," he added.

The report out of the state-controlled Iranian outlet also claimed that Hollywood shows gays in a positive light in the movies, and schools in California teach homosexuality because a Jewish university told them to do so, because Jews are all-powerful, according to the paper.

“This recent attack on human decency by the Iranian regime is tragically not surprising, but these vicious words continue to hurt. Once again this barbaric dictatorship has revealed its hatred towards gays and lesbians as well as towards the State of Israel and Western countries, Saba Farzan, a German-Iranian expert in the field of human rights in the Islamic Republic, wrote in an email to the Jerusalem Post.

"This is especially ridiculous as in the Middle East, Israel is the only state where the gay community is safe and protected," she continued. "The Islamic Republic shows with this uncivilized world view how desperate it actually is."

Ironically, many on the far left tend to be very critical of Israel, and at the same time ardent supporters of gay rights.
